Preset rates shown on this site (including 7.5% for Nigeria) are conveniences, not authoritative statements of the law.
Verify before you rely
Always confirm the applicable rate and treatment with the relevant tax authority — for example the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in Nigeria, HMRC in the United Kingdom, or the IRS and your state revenue department in the United States — or with a qualified accountant or tax adviser, before issuing an invoice, filing a return, charging a customer or making a payment.
Rounding
Results are computed at full precision and rounded once, half-away-from-zero, to the minor unit of the selected currency (two decimal places for most currencies; none for zero-decimal currencies such as JPY, XOF and XAF). Your accounting software or invoice may round differently, so displayed figures can differ by a cent, kobo or equivalent unit.
